COVID-19 ( Novel-Coronavirus Disease )

" ... the safety of every person visiting our property is paramount to our attention and concern "

Since May 17th 2020, up to fifty (50) people are allowed to attend services at our Church, following the parameters set forward by the Public Health Officer and with the blessing of the Archdiocese of Canada.

May 22,2020

Dear Members and Parishioners,

We are happy to announce that we are now opening our church for liturgical services on
Sundays and Feast Days.

For your safety we are following the guidelines established by the BC Center for Disease Control and the BC Ministry of Health.

We are limiting the services to a maximum of 40 people (excludes clergy, staff and volunteers in
attendance), and it is based on a first-come first-serve basis.

We are also accepting limited reservations. These can only be placed on Thursday and Friday
before service by calling the Office at 604-438-6432 during business hours, 9am – 5pm. If the answering service comes on, please state your name, phone number, and how many people will be attending. Anyone not attending after 9:30 am will have their reservation cancelled.

If you arrive after the limit is reached you will be denied immediate entry.

We additionally are asking that you assist by following some simple guidelines.
- Refrain from attending if you or a member of your immediate household are sick (or feeling
unwell)
- Prior to attending (and if possible when at the church) please wash your hands and utilize hand sanitizer
- We respectfully ask that you wear a face mask.
- Maintain a distance of 2 meters apart

- Attempt to bring exacting change for candles and donation trays so we may limit any cross
contamination possibilities.
- Kissing icons is also discouraged – although the option is left to each parishioner.

- Follow any seating instructions as directed by Clergy or Council when you are in attendance.

We will continue to livestream Divine Services on our Facebook page at Saints Nicholas and Dimitrios Church. For donations, you can call our office at 604-438-6432 or visit our website at www.goeastvan.ca and click on “Donate Now”.

Your cooperation and understanding is appreciated.

Sincerely,

COVID-19 Advice we just can't ignore...

PHYSICAL DISTANCING IS A MUST

We must all adhere to the concerns expressed by our Provincial Health Minister and Canadian Government.

We MUST practice responsible social distancing by:

  1. Outside of your immediate household and family, we have to collectively refrain from any bodily contact. This would mean no hand shaking, fist-bumps, hugging, kissing etc.

  2. Hand washing and sanitizing must be used / practiced as often as possible. â€‹

  3. Please cough or sneeze into the bend of your arm

  4. Avoid touching each other people's property and surfaces

  5. If you feel ill or exhibit symptoms associated with COVID-19, you are respectfully asked to stay at home

  6. Must maintain a safe distance from each other when standing or meeting.

In this time of crisis, we need to be aware of our surroundings and actions and the effect that they can have on others around us.

If we practice these simple steps for the next few months we will not jeopardize people in our community, our family, our friends - and ourselves.

If you have questions or concerns, please visit the BC Centre for Disease Control website.
